Job Description

Pacific Engineering is seeking a full-time biologist to join our Environmental Department to assist in the development of permit applications, mitigation plans, wetland reports, soil remediation plans and critical area assessments. This position will require someone willing to work on a variety of environmental and land use projects in different ecological settings. The role includes a combination of in-office responsibilities and field work, primarily in Central and Eastern Washington with occasional travel to the Puget Sound region. This position is open for early career and entry level candidates, but preference will be given for additional qualifications and relevant experience.

Estimated Pay Range

  • $28 – 45 per hour

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in environmental science, biological science, natural resources, wildlife, forestry, fisheries, ecology, zoology, botany, or related fields

  • Excellent writing skills and attention to detail

  • Strong botany, dendrology, or vegetation identification skills

  • Knowledge of Pacific Northwest fish and wildlife species

                                                     

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with environmental and land use permitting in Washington State

  • Wetland delineation and category rating training and experience

  • Experience with the Endangered Species Act and preparation of Biological Assessments

  • Work experience preparing SEPA and/or NEPA documents

  • Knowledge of permit requirements under WDFW and USACE jurisdiction including section 10/404

  • Legacy pesticide soil testing and remediation experience

  • AutoCAD and/or GIS

License Requirements

A valid driver's license is required for this position (verified upon hire). A valid Washington State driver's license is required within 30 days of employment.
