Founder and avid fisherman, Kyle Rumble, started the company with just himself, a number 2 pencil and a hand-built drafting desk. With an office alongside the Columbia River he originally considered naming the company "Columbia Engineering" but felt the Pacific Ocean's characteristics and geographic reach better defined his dream for the company.
Since then, Pacific Engineering has grown from a one-man shop to the largest independent engineering firm in North Central Washington.

Rich is an expert in detail-driven structural engineering and specializes in the design of large-scale industrial, food processing, medical, educational, and institutional facilities with over 30 years of collaborative service. His experience includes representation as a consultant to international corporations with duties including budgeting, concept development and planning, document and contract preparation, and full-service construction administration.
